Play Therapy is a developmentally appropriate psychotherapeutic approach that enables children to express their emotions, thoughts, and experiences through play. Especially in young children, where verbal expression is limited, play is one of the most natural and effective ways to understand their inner world.
During the therapeutic process, the child expresses experiences through toys, figures, drawing, and symbolic play. The therapist focuses on understanding the child’s emotional world, processing difficult experiences, and providing a safe relational environment.
Play therapy can be effectively used in a wide range of difficulties such as anxiety, trauma, behavioral problems, adjustment issues, separation anxiety, and self-esteem difficulties. While expressing themselves through play, children also develop problem-solving and emotional regulation skills.
The primary goal of this approach is to help the child make sense of their inner world in a safe environment and to strengthen psychological resilience. The process is carried out in collaboration with the family, providing holistic support for the child’s development.
